ABOUT ME
I am a Registered Member of the BACP (British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists), a Certified IFS Therapist, IFS Institute Approved Clinical Consultant and a trainer for the IFS Institute. I am also an ISMETA registered Somatic Movement Educator and Therapist.
I have a Diploma (HE) in Person-Centred Counselling, a BA (first class honours) in Person-Centred Therapy, an MA (first class honours) in Dance and Somatic Well-being and a Diploma (HE) in Design. I am a trained Inner Dance facilitator. I have completed levels 1, 2 and 3 of the IFS training, with my level 1 being in 2010. I am trained in Somatic IFS. Both in the UK and Internationally, I have been a Programme Assistant on the IFS training and Somatic IFS trainings, and a Lead PA on IFS trainings many times before becoming a co-lead trainer for the IFS Institute. I am also a supervisor and IFSI Approved Clinical Consultant.
I have worked as a therapist with adults, young people and children in various settings including educational, community and charitable organisations, as well as in private practice.
I was fortunate to attend a 5 day IFS introduction and trauma training in 2009 with Dr Richard Schwartz, then the following year the first IFS Level 1 in the UK again with Dr Richard Schwartz and with Susan McConnell. I fell in love with the model and as part of a team of five, known as IFSUK, actively supported the growth of IFS model in the UK.
People tend to describe me as warm, approachable, funny, and engaging; that they feel safe, accepted and not judged in my presence; that they feel seen by me and a sense of connection.
